Squibb Creek Falls

A secluded Cherokee National Forest waterfall near Chuckey, cascading about 25 feet into a forest pool. The path follows Squibb Creek uphill with a dozen rock-hop crossings and a short switchback at the end.

Middle Springs Ridge and Turkeypen Cove Loop

A hard loop in the Sampson Mountain Wilderness with about 1,650 feet of climbing. Go up Middle Springs and down Turkeypen Cove; a rock outcrop near the top looks over Greeneville and the Nolichucky valley. Blue blazes, and the footbridges are slick after rain.

Horse Creek Overlook via Sarvis Cove Trail

An out-and-back from the Horse Creek Recreation Area that climbs about 2,900 feet past the cascades on Sarvis Creek to a forest road just below the Appalachian Trail. A short path from the upper parking area reaches the rock outcrop at Horse Creek Overlook. Yellow blazes, faint in places.
